Indianapolis Audiovisual Firm Joins Major Industry Alliance
05.01.2008

INDIANAPOLIS, May 1, 2008 – Sensory Technologies, a leading audiovisual (AV) systems integrator and videoconference technology provider based in Indianapolis, was recently invited to join Professional Systems Network International (PSNI), a North American alliance of independent AV, IT, broadcast, and multimedia systems integrators.

PSNI sought Sensory Technologies as a member based on the firm’s history of exemplary customer support, strong reputation in the marketplace, and gold-level certification in the Certified AudioVisual Solutions Provider (CAVSP) Program, the industry-standard program for companies in the professional AV industry. From the corporate world to academia, from government applications to retail needs, the firm’s aim is to design communication systems that work well together so people can work well together. Notes managing principal Anne Sellers, “The greatest audio-video and teleconference equipment in the world is worthless if it doesn’t end up saving our clients time and increasing efficiencies. Whether our clients are looking for a new system or simply a few new components, we make it all come together seamlessly.”

“Sensory Technologies is a fantastic addition to PSNI,” says PSNI Past-President and Membership Chair John Bluhm. “We are very impressed with their process-driven focus on both front-end engineering and back-end support. Their customers value the fact that they stay current on the latest AV technologies and that they have some of the best trained technicians in the industry. Their network-savvy professionals are known for engineering jobs properly from start to finish and providing customers with real-time troubleshooting through their help desk, which is staffed 12 hours a day, 5 days a week.”

Potential PSNI affiliates must meet numerous membership criteria, including high ethical standards, proven professionalism and accountability, and industry leadership in services or technology. PSNI seeks firms that strengthen the diversity of the organization’s core capabilities and that reinforce the organization’s standing and ability to provide comprehensive geographic coverage to clients throughout the United States and Canada.

Firms, in turn, benefit from PSNI membership by leveraging their knowledge and resources. For example, PSNI affiliates are able to lower the costs associated with managing national projects and provide a standard level of service on a national basis. Principal Derek Paquin states, “PSNI affiliation will allow us to team up with other respected firms so we can share best practices and work together on quick-turnaround AV integration and videoconferencing projects of any scale in locations nationwide.”

Sensory Technologies was formed in 2006 when a division of Markey’s Audio Visual, a thriving company with a 44-year track record of satisfied clients, merged with Video Images, a regional leader in videoconferencing and advanced video-audio integration. The new firm is growing steadily, with 63 employees, up from 47 just two years earlier. Today, the company integrates sound, imagery, and environment for corporations, educational institutions, and government agencies nationwide. Their fully integrated solutions consist of system design and installation, onsite service and help desk management, and bridging and support services.

Membership in the PSNI network will also enable Sensory Technologies to better forecast industry trends. Says Sellers, “In recent years, we’ve expanded our focus on providing the latest videoconferencing and video bridge [multisite videoconferencing] technology to customers around the country, especially as that technology becomes increasingly practical given the travel savings and productivity gains it offers. As part of PSNI, we’ll gain the resources of a geographically distributed organization while still providing customers with the fast, personalized service they expect, giving us a distinct competitive advantage in this rapidly changing marketplace.”

PSNI represents a North American network of independently owned affiliates that generates over $500 million in annual revenues with over 1,590 employees located in 59 offices nationwide. Founded in 1986, PSNI provides a forum for information exchange and problem solving, elevates public awareness of affiliates’ capabilities, and offers a distinguishing standard of quality, integrity, customized service, and expertise.
